This article covers the following platforms

  • MSFS 2024
  • MSFS 2020
  • ATS
  • FSX
  • Prepar3D

On some aircraft, platform limitations prevent SimFX from letting you choose between the default heatblur and the SimFX heatblur. We changed how heatblur works so you can pick the one you want:

  • If you prefer the default heatblur: update SimFX. The new build can only turn the default heatblur on or off, and only on aircraft coded in a way that allows it. Turning it off can help performance.

  • If you prefer the SimFX heatblur: keep using it with a free, optional download: SimFX Heatblur (requires SimFX). Drop it into the Community folder.

  • If you are on Xbox: this SimFX update reverts you to the default aircraft heatblur effects.
